marriage au
[ McGillis has been trying for months to get Gaelio to talk marriage with him. But rather typical of the other man the moment the subject comes up he finds something else that needs his immediate attention or changes the subject. Over and over. To the point that McGillis gives up broaching the topic with Gaelio and goes straight to his father. Frankly it's not the way he would have wanted to do it ideally, but asking the parent's permission before proposing is still considered proper. It's just a bit less proper when the person in question has no idea of interest in the first place.
In any case, Lord Bauduin was amenable enough to the match if his son was. Of course no formalities could be discussed until Gaelio agreed and so, finally, it's come down to McGillis having to trap the man into the conversation he keeps avoiding like the plague.
This time, however, he believes he has an approach that will keep Gaelio form fleeing.
They're in the rose garden of the Bauduin estate, drinking tea and enjoying a brief moment of time off, just the two of them. It's a lovely setting, and suitably romantic, as far as it goes. The day is perfect, with the sun shining but not too hot, a light breeze smelling of roses and sea air, the sky a lovely blue with white clouds--picturesque and memorable.
And Gaelio is with him, talking about something or other. McGillis waits for a lull in the conversation, setting his tea down. Looks at Gaelio dead on as he announces: ]
I am currently in engagement negotiations. But I wanted your help. And advice, I suppose.

I'm not interested in fooling around. But the idea that time spent with you is a waste is one I'd like to correct.
no subject
I know that you're not like that. [ He pauses, looking up to the ceiling for a couple of seconds before continuing. ] What I mean is I'd like you to have fun tonight, even if you're just going to stay in with me.
no subject
But he's not going to reject whatever Gaelio has is mind, because... It's Gaelio.]
Is there something you wanted to do?
no subject
Provided he's not immediately rejected, anyway. ]
There might be.
[ He's up, stretching, then approaching. And balancing his ass on the arm of McGillis' chair, one arm draped over the back of it and thoughtfully tugging on his own hair with the other. ]
no subject
I'm open to a change of pace if you have something in mind.
looks into the camera like i'm on the office
Can you keep a secret from your fiance, then?
[ This is an easy one, McGillis, he's even lowering his voice and rubbing his foot against McGillis' shin. ]
Maybe he should be less gay
That depends. Can you keep one from yours?
[Look maybe he knows enough not to answer like "boy the secrets I can keep from my fiance!" Anyway coy is flirtier, right?]
hmmm
Not when mine is McGillis Fareed, esteemed inspector of Gjallarhorn.
Re: hmmm
[He blinks at Gaelio and then just. Laughs. Reaching up to gently tug on that side lock of hair.]
I guess it's good we're not keeping secrets then. [;D]
But don't let me derail you.
no subject
Mm. [ An agreement. But while this position is nice, he can't really play around with him like this, so he turns quickly and just slides himself into McGillis' lap. He's also thanking whoever designed this room that the chairs are the perfect width for a very tall man to straddle another very tall man. ] Then I should tell you my last one.
no subject
You have my undivided attention.
no subject
At the party, you asked me what my reasons for agreeing to marry you were. [ Where Gaelio had then said that he'd tell him later on, at a better time. Now's the time, apparently. ] It's a little embarrassing, so please bear with me.
no subject
As you wish.
[ He agrees, ready to listen to whatever Gaelio says in his lap like this. ]
no subject
Ever since we met, I've only ever aspired to be able to stay beside you. To me, you were someone who I wanted to catch up to, because I wanted to be the sort of person you could be yourself around.
[ Imagine him saying this under any other circumstances, huh. ]
no subject
Shit.
How is he supposed to react to this pure and sincere confession?
In all truth this is what he wanted, isn't it? Gaelio to be dedicated to him to make his goals easier. But somehow it feels like he's rather trapped himself, because this makes him... Strangely happy and guilty to hear.
At least his stunned look is honest. ]
no subject
[ Gaelio, at least, is sort of amused. He doesn't feel like there's anything terrible in what he said—it's embarrassing, but only because it's so much more open than he even usually is. ]
no subject
[ At least that's entirely honest. Not something Gaelio usually manages. But he shouldn't feel bad about the fact that he hides who he is around Gaelio should he? He's more honest with Gaelio than anyone else, and that's good enough, if Gaelio is happy than he shouldn't feel guilty about not being able to fulfill that wish.
In the end what matters is that Gaelio is happy, not how honest it is. And he really believes that, so he collects himself enough to smile fondly. ]
I wasn't expecting it. But in truth you are the only one I could really call my true friend. Having you with me is important to me, as well.
[ That's the truth at least. ]
no subject
But more importantly, his fingers have found the front of McGillis' pants and he's lightly, questioningly tugging on them. ]
no subject
He makes a soft noise against Gaelio's lips at the hands on his pants, but, well his own let go of Gaelio's hips to reach up and tangle in Gaelio's hair, so that's definitely not a no. ]
no subject
Once there's no objection, Gaelio's fingers are deftly undoing his pants. ]
It's a last minute party, [ He's talking around his hand dipping into his pants, beneath his underwear, to find his cock and wrap his fingers around it. ] but I'll do my best.
no subject
Gaelio...
no subject
Hm?
[ Gaelio isn't really prompting him to elaborate, but is absolutely going to accept elaboration like a coy little shit, smiling. He has plans for this dick, but for the moment he's just going to enjoy having him in his hand, languidly stroking him. ]
no subject
That feels good.
no subject
His fingers are firm around him, warm and just a tiny bit calloused in some spots. Inside of his pants, there's not much room to explore him with, so after enjoying the slight constriction for a bit Gaelio is pulling his cock free, then reluctantly breaking away from his kiss. ]
You'll tell me if it doesn't, I assume.
no subject
I think you'd notice if I wasn't enjoying it.
[ He points out just a little wryly. ]
